Edition Ended

Whilst studying at Art College, Jean did some research into the origins of the mythical Unicorn, from its use as a heraldic emblem, to medieval tapestries. She discovered that in one version, in legend, it is supposed to represent the changing of the seasons, and as this happens it has a fierce battle with the Lion. The desciption of this beast is a stallion’s body and head with a lion’s beard and tail, and cloven hooves and legs of a goat – so there we have it!
