This sculpture came about after a friend from the Deerhound Club who lived on Exmoor asked her to create a sculpture of a Stag being coursed. Obviously, this no longer happens, but Jean spent some time stalking the stags on Exmoor and put together this sculpture from observing her own deerhounds running, and old photographs and prints.

She has sculpted the stag looking as if it is going to turn one way but actually has dropped the other shoulder, hinting at that move instead. It proved so popular with the members of the Deer hound Club that there is only one Bronze Resin sculpture left in the edition.

The Stag is also available as a seperate sculpture. Please see other images.
